Plenty Good Room at St. John’s
If you’ve been around St. John’s lately, you’ve probably noticed that there is a lot going on. It seems like every week brings another gathering, another new face, or another reminder of just how much energy there is in our parish right now.
That makes this year’s stewardship theme, Plenty Good Room, feel particularly appropriate. There really has been plenty of room at St. John’s this year—for new people, new ideas, new ministries, and new ways of being together.
We’ve welcomed new parishioners, enjoyed picnics and game nights, celebrated the opening of the CICADA Center, and watched our Godly Play and Journey to Adulthood programs grow. Invite Welcome Connect has gotten underway, Connected Communities continues to bring people together on Sunday mornings, and our Scripture Squad has developed its own faithful following.
None of that happens on its own. It happens because people show up, volunteer, share their gifts, support our ministries, and help make St. John’s a place where all are welcome because all belong.
As we look toward 2027, there is plenty more to come, including improvements to our worship space and new opportunities to live out our calling in the wider community.
We’ll celebrate together at our first Harambee Dinner on Monday, November 9, at 6 p.m. Harambee means “we gather together” in Swahili, and that is exactly what we hope this evening will be: a joyful gathering with good food, music, a Kenyan-style auction led by Father Zach Drennen, and the in-gathering of our 2027 Estimate of Giving cards.
Come pull up a chair, sit down, and celebrate all that we’re making room for together.
