Vestry Hosts Coffee Hour on October 12
Vestry has been hard at work since our February 2025 Vestry Retreat. The Vestry meets monthly, and occasionally more frequently than that. Vestry prays for one another, and we pray for the parish. We’ve prayerfully discerned our core values: social justice, inclusion, belonging, and faithful. As I type this article, Vestry is very near to writing a new mission statement for St. John’s Episcopal Church.
A mission statement is our reason for being, our purpose. Mission statements serve us best when they are memorable, both to parishioners and to those who don’t affiliate with St. John’s yet. And so, our mission will be both inward and outward facing.
Vestry invites you to join us for a special coffee hour on Sunday, October 12, to hear more about our core values and our identified and discerned mission statement. Vestry wants to be present with our wider parish, to be present with one another, to support each other, and to walk forward together.
Please do your best to be present with Vestry on October 12 for our special hour after worship. We’ll celebrate our new and united mission, our reason for being together in 2025.
