A New Role at St. John’s: A Note from Fr. Chris Thompson

Blessings and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am Chris Thompson. Most of you know me from my time as the Interim Rector. I am presently on Bishop Cowden’s staff as the Archdeacon for Pastoral Care for Clergy & Families, which is a volunteer position. I will continue to assist the Bishop in this area, but I am adding another position at the end of the month.

Mary Jo and I have made St. John’s our parish home, and we love it! In conversations with Fr. Eric, Ken Perraut, and the Vestry, I will be coming on as Priest Associate for three Sundays a month. I am very excited and grateful. I will be assisting with Liturgy, Pastoral Care, and areas Fr. Eric requests. Please note, Fr. Eric is the Rector; I will be working for him and managing my schedule through the Church Office.

We, the people of St. John’s, say this often: “This is an exciting time,” and it is for the Church. My position is temporary. When a curate/assistant can be called, I will be around to assist, but as Fr. Eric wishes.

Blessings and peace,

Fr. Chris Thompson
