Ministry Teams to Host Coffee Hour
The Congregational Life Ministry Team recently submitted a proposal to the vestry regarding coffee hour refreshments, which was approved to support our ministry efforts. Starting in October, each ministry team will take turns providing coffee hour refreshments. If a Sunday coincides with a parish-wide event, Congregational Life will coordinate what is needed.
What exactly counts as “refreshments”? This is not a full luncheon, it’s a time for community sharing and getting to know one another. Simple items like fruit, coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, or cookies work perfectly. The church will continue to provide coffee, tea, water, plates, and napkins. Refreshments don’t need to be elaborate—keeping it simple is best!
For October, the Acolyte Ministry will be responsible for providing refreshments. Chairs and co-chairs will receive a schedule to share with their team members, and Congregational Life will send a reminder to each team the month before their assigned Sunday. We recognize that some ministries have only a few members and will work with those teams to ensure everything runs smoothly.
One of the many gifts of St. John’s parishioners is their talent in the kitchen! As our parish grows, this initiative is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our sense of community through hospitality. We are grateful to the vestry for approving this proposal and look forward to working with each ministry to create a warm and welcoming coffee hour experience.
