Adult Forum to Become Connected Communities
For decades now Episcopal churches have been having ‘adult forum’ time on Sundays, either before or after worship. I remember my childhood parish, Church of the Good Shepherd in Parkersburg, held adult forum regularly throughout the program year; I’m also aware that St. John’s has held adult forums for at least the last thirty or so years.

Padre's Ponderings - October 2024

A Senior Moment by Diane Hendricks (Senior Warden) : St. John’s and Manna Meal
As a therapist and mother of three young children in 1991 I was immediately drawn to St. John’s dedication to social justice and their partnership with Manna Meal. So I, like many of you, have mixed feelings as they move from St. John’s to Garnet Center for dining and mobile units for storing and preparing food. Many of you are asking for more information about this transition - how and why this is happening.

The title is probably somewhat misleading, because this 83 year-old newbie at St John’s is far from being the “new kid on the block.” Or feeling like it for that matter.

Imagine 17 campers coming from six different schools, supported by 6 center leaders, 6 teen counselors, 5 small group guides, staff to provide food, transportation, music, and general support.
