Senior Warden’s Corner: A Vision for the Future

During our annual meeting in January, we posed a vital question: Where is St. John’s headed in the next 30 years? The response was overwhelmingly gratifying. Translating your hopes into action, your Vestry immediately began a visioning process at our February retreat. Guided by Canon Jordan Trumble, we began to see themes emerge that reflected our core values of inclusivity, belonging, justice, and faith in Christ. Our Executive Team refined these ideas with a leadership coach, and after further collaborative discussion with the Vestry and a small-group task force, we drafted and approved a beautiful new vision statement:

As diverse followers of Jesus Christ, grounded in prayer and guided by faith—we are becoming a thriving, visible, and trusted community leader—a beacon of hope for all.

What an exciting future awaits us! Now, we turn to the real work of answering our calling: How do we deepen our prayerful discipleship? How can we tangibly become a visible and trusted beacon of hope in our community? How do we turn this beautiful vision into our everyday reality?

We have some wonderful new initiatives on the horizon, and we look forward to walking this bright path forward together. Your ideas and involvement will continue to be vital to the future of St. John’s!
