This summer, your St. John's Vestry embarked on a transformative journey with RenewalWorks to re-examine and strengthen the spiritual heart of our parish.
RenewalWorks is a ministry of Forward Movement—the same ministry of the Episcopal Church that produces the familiar Forward Day by Day booklets that are available in the church. RenewalWorks has a long track record of assisting churches just like ours. Over the past decade, they have worked with more than 400 parishes nationwide.
The first step in our journey with RenewalWorks (with the Vestry serving as the RenewalWorks team) was to launch the Spiritual Life Inventory. In September and October, we asked all parishioners to take part. Through the incredible enthusiasm of our congregation, 76 members shared their insights via the Spiritual Life Inventory, laying a strong foundation for our next steps.
As we look ahead, our RenewalWorks team is embarking on a series of workshops to reflect on your feedback and explore where we are on our collective spiritual journey. Together, we'll discern how St. John's can better encourage and nurture everyone's faith walk—how we can grow in our love of God and our love of neighbor so that we may serve as a beacon of hope for our broader community.
We ask for your continued prayers as we chart this vibrant path forward, and we look forward to sharing our findings with you soon.
