From Your New Senior Warden
After more than 30 years away, returning to Charleston felt like more than just a move—it felt like a long-awaited homecoming. Growing up in Hurricane and spending time in Huntington and Charleston before my career took me out of state, I always carried West Virginia in my heart. The call to return was personal; I was ready to stop missing the milestones—the birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings—that distance had stolen. Now, weekly dinners with my brother and sister-in-law are the highlight of my week.
But the greatest surprise in my return to West Virginia was finding a second family at St. John’s. From the moment I first stepped into the church, the warmth was immediate. The traditional liturgy and the St. Ambrose choir’s music didn't just fill the room; they filled my spirit. I found a community that serves God with joy, and I soon felt called to give back. Now, as I step into the role of Senior Warden, I am eager to help us live out our mission of inclusivity, justice and faith in Christ. I may have much to learn, but I know one thing for certain: I am finally home.
