Prayer for Healthy Habits

Submitted by Lora Witt.

I decided to make this prayer using what we learned about using prayer beads, as well as what I learned from a recent Connected Communities topic.

It made me question, can I change how I treat my health — physical and mental — if I keep God's love of me and for me, a daily affirmation and prayer? I'm giving it a try.

Cross

God for us, we call you Father; God alongside us, we call you Jesus; God within us, we call you Holy Spirit

You are the eternal mystery That enables, enfolds and enlivens all things, Even us, Even me

Every name falls short of your Goodness and Greatness

We can only see who you are In what is.

We ask for such perfect seeing

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be

Amen

(Richard Rohr)

Invitatory

Holy Spirit, breath of God and fire of love, I cannot pray without your aid; kindle in me the fire of your love and illume me with your light; that with a steadfast will and holy thoughts I may approach the father in spirit and in truth, through Jesus Christ my Lord, who reigns with you and the father in eternal union.

Amen

Cruciform

I will give thanks to You, Lord, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works—help me, Lord, to know this intimately and see myself the way You do. – Psalm 139:14

Weeks

Come Holy Spirit, May I love my body as a temple
